With two weeks to go until the Carlsbad Marathon, I had a bunch of running on my schedule this week. I woke up Friday morning feeling a bit "off". I had a 2.5 hour run on my schedule, which I cranked out (again) in cold, wet, windy weather. The whole run was tough - by the end of the day I'd clocked 41.3 miles between Tuesday the 1st and Friday. That's a lot, and with the running on the schedule for the weekend it looked like I was going to go well over 50 for the week.
But by Friday afternoon it was clear that wasn't going to happen. So I spent my entire weekend on the couch, sick with a nasty sore throat. I spent so much time on the couch I've actually got a sore spot on my left hip! Fortunately I didn't have a fever and I think I'm on the mend now and shouldn't really lose much because of it. But I still feel kind of crappy. I haven't been really sick in almost 2 years so if that's it, and I hope it is, then I guess I can't complain too much.
