Here in Spokane with the fam, just did a nice 45-minute run with Deb on a crisp, sunny, cold Spokane morning. Even when I think I'm running slow, I get back and check my pace (yay for Gmap Pedometer!), and I really am running faster.. Started thinking... ah, what the heck, I'll do a sappy Thanksgiving Day post. And I should. I have a tremendous amount to be thankful for. What is it, something like 20% of the people on this planet don't have clean drinking water?
OK, here's goes. In no particular order...I'm thankful...
- That I'm able to fill most of my life with my passions: technology (my job and my gizmos) and my training (it's really hard for me to explain how central athletics, and IM in particular, is for me). I'm very lucky to have the circumstances to focus most of my time on things that have little to do with my basic health and safety.
- That those passions have allowed me to meet great people with whom I have them in common
- That I have a loving and supportive family that do things in each other's best interests
- That I have a circle of friends that I trust and appreciate deeply
- That I have an amazing girlfriend who is always up for an adventure and, uh, puts up with me. :)
- That I have the opportunity and flexibility to travel and see different parts of the world
- That I'm healthy
I think that pretty well sums it up. And leaves some room for me.
Have a great Thanksgiving...
