Alright, one week completed. I got set up with a coach and I think it's going to work out well.
Yesterday was my first day working off of his plan. It's really easy to forget how this stuff adds up. I was going to ride over to University Zoka for the team ride (it's a little more than an hour over there). My plan only called for 90 minutes on the bike, so that extra hour was a lot. Plus running and swimming got added to my schedule. Jim happened to be in front of his house as I was headed out, and he was driving so I got a ride with him. Good thing - by the time I got to my 30 minute "easy" run later in the day, I was starting to feel it. I ended up doing most of an Olympic Tri yesterday (33 on the bike, 1500y in the pool, a little more than 3 miles running). My fitness has clearly waned in the last 6 weeks or so, which isn't unexpected.
This morning was another mile in the pool, which felt good, then some weights. Yesterday I couldn't get my stupid nose plug to stay on so I went without it. Huge mistake, I was miserable last night and slept kind of crappy. Today I made it work. It's hard to swim much more than 5 minutes at a time with it on though...water and stuff seems to build up in the back of my throat (kind of like when you have bad sinuses or allergies) and makes it hard to breath. I'll need to figure that out. The ProClub people still claim they're moving to a UV system soon, man I hope that solves the problem. It's like the Dem's retaking Congress. It'd be kind of nice, it seems like it could happen, but I'll believe it when I see it. These are the few cases where I hope I'm wrong...
Anyway, here's the totals from last week (note I don't always have distance in my reporting, for example on the computrainer I don't care about distance, just time, so the run/bike distances don't directly related to the duration):
