Wow, it's like clockwork. Last year, we went to France, saw the Tour, got in a bunch of miles, then got back home, into August, and I started having trouble getting my workouts in.
After Lake Stevens, I was pretty motivated, but took some recovery time and now I'm having to kind of drag myself out of bed. This morning I was going to do some speedwork on the track and then bike-commute into work. Not so much. I'll do the track work tonight, but lets just say the bike commute didn't happen (which is too bad, it's gorgeous outside). Maybe this happens after you focus on something for a long time and then it's behind you.
We've got the State Team Time Trial (TTT) this weekend, and the Beaver Lake Tri next weekend. Must...get...moving. Maybe I should play some golf. Tomorrow we're doing a charity swim across Lake Washington (a little over two miles) - yeah, sure, swim across the Lake, no problem. Actually it should be a lot of fun.
So basically I'm trying to figure out what to do next. I'm thinking about doing the Black Diamond Half, and I'm not sure if that's a good idea (something to motivate me) or a bad idea (one race too many). Last year I did the Black Diamond Olympic and I was super ready for a break by the time that was done...
Hello, my name is Shawn and I'm a tri-o-holic. Yes, I've basically decided to make a run at doing a full Ironman. My choices are Ironman Arizona (IMAZ) in April or Ironman Canada (IMC), next August. Deb and I are planning to go up to see IMC in a few weekends and then register. Yes, you have to go there to register pretty much. Believe it or not, there's more people willing to pay $500 to do a race that takes a year to train for and 10-15 hours to complete than there are slots available. In any case, it'll be fun - there's lots of friends doing that race that we can cheer for. Arizona seems nice since it's closer but training over the winter sucks. Hmmm...
