Plants are smarter than me.

Ugh, a month goes by without blogging. Anyway, so I've got this great house in Kirkland, about 10 minutes from Microsoft. Behind the house on the hillside, is some landscaping and a big greenbelt. It's nice to look at but has two major downsides. First, all the foliage means my house is spiderville by the end of the summer. I'm not a total arachnophobe but I don't really care for the things. Secondly, keeping up with the plants is quite a challenge. Most of it is easy enough, and I do have a landscaper come and help with most of it. But the real problem I have is the ongoing war with the Morning Glory vines. I think I have to admit that they've really got the best of me. I've tried everything. Pulling them is satisfying but really does nothing since there are huge root systems under ground and they just pop up again -- they seem to grow a foot or more a week. I've tried poisons of every variety, and the bastards just laughed at me. I had this grand idea to go get some syringes and inject the roots with poison directly. I'm now waiting for the vines to grow themselves into a formation of a middle finger, just to spite me.
